Beijing is the capital of the People’s
Republic of China and has been a historic center of power, culture and wealth
that continues to today. The tour starts at Tian’anmen Square; you’ll tour the
grounds and see the array of halls and monuments. From there you walk to the
Forbidden City. With over 180 acres and collection of great halls, you will see
antiques and treasures representing all of China’s history. After a stop for
lunch, you will visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall, one of the best
preserved sections of this 2,000 years old architectural wonder. You will be
able to climb the wall and take a pano-ramic view at the top. During the day
you will stop and shop the famous Longdi Jade Factory. You can also get some
bargains.

It is China’s largest temple and altar complex, an extraordinary example of
religious architecture dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Your final
destination is the retreat of emperors for 800 years, the Summer Palace. In
this park, you will the grounds, the temples and the world’s longest
art gallery. You will break up your busy day with scenic bus riding plus an
unbeatable shopping experience at the Li Heng Tang Pearl or Yuanhou Slik.

This excursion trip has been combined with two of our most popular
destinations North of Beijing into one unforgettable tour. The first stop is to
the sacred Ming Tombs. You’ll explore the largest of the burial sites, the
Changling Tomb. After lunch, you will go to the Great Wall, the very symbol of
ancient Chinese engineering. The Badaling section is a prime, preserved example
of this colossal structure, and you will have the opportunity to climb up
either the North or South Face of the Wall. During the day you will stop and
shop at the Longdi Jade Factory.

Description:
Mutianyu offers an alternative Great
Wall experience compared to the popular Badaling section. This portion of China’s ancient
engineering marvel features an optional cable car ride, or an opportunity to
climb more than 1,400 steps to the top. Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper
than Badaing Great Wall with its more challenging climb. This section is older
than Badaling and features in its outer and inner parapets and three watch
towers. A visit to a nearby Cloisonne Factory is also included in this half day
tour. If clients want to have lunch at Mutianyu Area, we suggest Schoolhouse as
the best choice. However, lunch is not included in the tour.

This tour begins at Tian’anmen Square; you will tour the grounds of
Tian’anmen Tower, Monument to the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People and
Chairman Mao’s Monument. Then it’s on to the legendary Forbidden City. The
history of every dynasty is represented here throughout four palatial halls.
After a substantial lunch, your destination is the aptly named Temple of
Heaven, tracing back to the 15th century. Built in the Ming and Qing dynasties,
the Temple of Heaven was the center of prayer, traditional ceremonies and
sacrificial rites. It’s a busy day, but will also include a visit to the
Yuanhou Silk Store for a shopping experience.

Lamasery, which is one of the best examples of the region’s sacred temples.
Lama Temple reveals diverse architectural styles from Han, Mongolia, Manchuria
and Tibet. Then it’s on to the Beijing Zoo to see the frolicking Pandas, a
living Chinese treasure. After a stop for lunch, you’ll then visit the
emperor’s resort, the historic Summer Palace. Used for eight centuries, the
Empress Dowager Cixi had the palace renovated in the 19th century, including
the manmade lake we see today. During the day, you will also go on a shopping
excursion to the Li Heng Tang pearl shop.

life in the city as your driver pedals through the old, narrow streets, or
hutongs. It includes a stop to visit the home of a Chinese family and climb to
the top of an old drum Tower for a bird’s eye view of the area.
